FOUNDATIONS IN BABYWEARING EDUCATION

The Live Zoom sessions are the highlight of this course—often called the ‘gold’ standard by our students.

It’s rare to find this much live interaction in an online program. We’ll be meeting live for a total of 28-34+ hours!

These sessions are designed to be highly engaging, offering hands-on practice, deep discussions, and a chance to connect with peers. This is your time to dive into the content, ask questions, and explore ideas in a supportive group environment.

While the sessions are virtual, they’re interactive class time, so come prepared with your camera on, ready to actively participate and share.

Together, we’ll explore practical techniques for babywearing and teaching, focusing on how to incorporate the course material into your current work. You’ll get to practice your teaching skills, discuss the lectures in-depth, and strengthen your confidence with rich content around babywearing consultations. 

Pre-Recorded Videos

The pre-recorded sessions are released every week as you move through the class. In these sessions, lecture material is delivered in keynote-style videos. Overall, there are over 12 hours of recorded video to watch at your convenience over a three-week period. Videos have slides, transcripts, and worksheets, so you can easily integrate the material into your life and work regardless of your learning style.

3. Implementation note sheets for recorded videos
4. Logbook for tracking your consultations and classes

Other tools you will need prior to starting the course

This course is a hands-on course requiring you to have a few carriers as well as a 6-8 pound weighted doll available for each live session and practice throughout the week.

There are also many tutorials to help you make your own weighted doll from a baby doll or stuffed animal. Here is one such tutorial, or you can google "DIY weighted doll" to find others. 

NOTE: As a baby carrying consultant, you will find these tools useful to own. However, if you don’t wish to purchase them at this time, you may be able to borrow them from a local babywearing group or another babywearing educator. There are also a variety of tutorials available online that can help you create your own versions of these carriers, if you prefer to sew them yourself. 

Please obtain the following baby carriers prior to the start of our course. 

We recommend that you have one of each of the following styles of carrier. If it is feasible, you will find it helpful to have more than one brand of each. Some carriers have a wide variety of features and styles between brands, especially soft structured carriers.
