Hands-on, one-day labs.
Art. Science. Why. How.
Of Carrying.
Not just watching — doing.
Together.
What is HELD?
HELD is an immersive experience.
This hands-on, one-day
cross-disciplinary workshop is for those who want to expand their awareness of the preventative and therapeutic applications of babywearing and blend this into their existing work supporting families.
This is not a Conference.
There will be no lectures.
Expect guided discovery & collaborative discussion.
HELD is about expanding the experience base of all attendees. We'll co-create and riff off the group's practical knowledge.
Imagine: case studies, panel discussions, and carrier deep dives.
Expanding how you support babies and families.
We'll share skills, discuss what’s changing in our field, and walk away ready to implement the next day.
Come to practice, explore, troubleshoot, and leave feeling supported, seen, and part of something bigger.
HELD is a series of one-day, hands-on workshops designed to develop regional knowledge of carrying technique and rationale.
Where We're Headed
HELD is just getting started — here’s where we’re showing up next:
Bring this knowledge to your region!
Why We're Doing This
The families you're working with are going home and struggling to apply what they've learned to their everyday lives. These families need cross-discipline, integrated support — and we believe that babywearing is a key bridge between what they learn in your office and how they live at home.
HELD was created to fill that gap.
It's a chance to break down the silos, to come together to create a shared language and practical understanding of what babywearing and extended carrying practices can bring to the work you do every day.

Who is HELD For?
Inside the Day
Carrier Labs
In each HELD session, we stage a fast-cycle carrier lab: one carrier style, many bodies, side-by-side. You’ll witness the same carrier on a range of people, exploring in real time how panels, straps, and fabric morph with every frame.
The rapid succession makes spotting adjustments, limitations, and micro-shifts second nature.
Then it’s your turn—hands-on time, tweaking fits, troubleshooting with peers, and leaning into the muscle memory from repetition so you can summon it in any consult.
Body diversity becomes the teaching tool, and the carrier becomes the lightning rod that grounds lab theory into lived, adaptable practice.
In-Arm Carry Deep Dive: Where Ergonomics Meets Motion
Before a carrier ever enters the picture, arms do the heavy lifting—literally. In this lab, we’ll explore the biomechanics and subtleties of in-arm carrying that most parents and caregivers never consider.
We’ll break down what’s happening in the physicality of those early in-arm carries and how to support caregivers in fine-tuning and preparing their techniques.
You’ll leave with a sharper eye, stronger communication tools, and a deeper understanding of how in-arms lays the groundwork for everything that follows.
Huddle – Action Planning + Networking
You showed up. You tried things. You asked good questions.
Now’s the moment to pull it all together—and leave with something solid. This is where you name what actually mattered today and what you’re taking home with you. Not just ideas, but next steps.
What will shift in your practice? What felt different in your body? What do you want to try again with real people?
You didn’t just attend—you participated. This session makes it real.

Our Sustainability & Community Promise 🌱
HELD is designed to bring people together without burning out our resources — or ourselves.
We prioritize regional gatherings, community building, and simple choices that make a big difference.
- • Travel smarter – attendees connect for hotel shares and carpools through our WhatsApp group.
- • Regional-first – each stop is intentionally capped for deeper conversations and expanded hands-on learning.
- • Low-resource day – digital agendas, vegetarian-first snacks, and minimal-to-no-swag are the norm.
