Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders are the most common complication of childbirth, yet many birth and postpartum professionals never receive clear, practical training on how to recognize them. This 2 hour workshop gives you the language, tools, and confidence to understand what you are seeing and how to support clients in a grounded, appropriate way.
PMADs affect up to 1 in 5 mothers. Recognizing what is typical and what is not can change the entire trajectory for a family.
This workshop is taught live with time for questions, and the replay is available afterwards. You will learn how to recognize symptoms, how to start supportive conversations, how to stay within your scope, and how to refer clients to the right resources without feeling unsure of what to say or do.
What This Workshop Is Really AboutÂ
It is about clarity. When you understand what PMADs look like, what increases risk, and how to respond, you can support clients without guessing. You get straightforward language, examples, and tools that make your work easier and help clients feel seen rather than overwhelmed.
This workshop is not about becoming a therapist. It is about strengthening the support you already give and knowing when something needs more care.
You will walk away with practical guidance you can use immediately in your work.
Birth and postpartum professionals are often the first people to notice changes in a client’s emotional wellbeing. You see the small shifts, the overwhelm, and the moments that hint something deeper may be going on. This workshop gives you the clarity to recognize what you’re seeing and the confidence to take the next right step.
You are often the first person to see subtle changes in a client’s emotional wellbeing. That makes your role incredibly important.
You are in a unique position to notice when something feels beyond typical adjustment and to support clients with grounded care, clear language, and appropriate referrals when needed.

- Know when and how to refer clients to appropriate mental health providers
