Land Acknowledgement
The Center for Babywearing Studies (CBWS) acknowledges the land designated Queens, NY, which is the northwest section of Paumanok* or "Long Island," as the homeland of the Canarsie, Matinecocks, and Munsee Lenape (Lenapehoking). The Lenape are diasporic people who remain closely connected with this land and are its rightful guardians.
CBWS remains committed to building sustainable relationships with Lenape and other Indigenous peoples. We actively engage Indigenous leaders as equal partners in collaboration and strive to foster a space that prioritizes their voices to direct our in-kind services in ways that best serve the people of these nations/members of these communities.
